Independent Investigations was founded by Phillip Swan in 1993 after a successful and extensive period working for the police force as an investigator in CID working on all aspects of major crime. His skills were put to good use working on a number of high profile cases. He also served for three and a half years in the undercover surveillance unit for the Regional Crime Squad.

In 1993 Phil decided to leave the police force to pursue a career in private investigation; a career which focused on the less paper based elements of his previous job and allowed him to use his more high profile skills to carry out a range of private sector detective work.

Over the years the business has developed and his reputation has increased business immensely. Phil has a unique way of getting tangible results. With a number of incredibly effective contacts and resources he remains to date one of the most respected Private Investigators in the South of England and is frequently called upon to assist other investigators around the country.

As a member of the Association of British Investigators, he takes pride in being professional, reliable and honest. As a Registered Data Controller under the Data Protection Act, all services are treated with the utmost discretion and confidentiality.

We differ from less competent and less skilled agencies by charging an hourly rate instead of charging by the eight hour day, thus delivering a far fairer service to you than our competitors. There are some assignments that only take a few hours, so we adopt what we consider an ethical approach by charging in a modular way.
